This week was a productive week for me! I managed to fit in quite a fair bit of reading, and a blog post every weekday! In a perfect world I could manage 5 posts a week – two being reviews, and 3 instagram posts throughout the week too but we all know I’m far from perfect. So mostly this was just a uniquely busy week. I’m sure it’ll be back to normal before too long!
Lets see what we got accomplished this week!
Reviews |
Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl
Young Adult / Science Fiction | What an engaging read! Marisha Pessl has wowed me twice now and has basically become a “must read” author for me. She knows how to keep me turning pages by incorporating wildly unpredictable twists into her stories that I just love. This was a head trip from start to finish. It’s also a really quick read, so if you’re considering this one I hope you keep it on your list!
Slayer by Kiersten White
Young Adult / Urban Fantasy | A Buffy The Vampire Slayer spin-off series, I had hoped for so much more from this novel, unfortunately. Buffy was one of my mainstay television shows as a teenager, and this felt like a really poor imitation that was also disrespectful in some ways of the source material. This one gets a hard pass from me.

Here’s my instagram uploads for the week! Just as a heads up, I’ve decided I’m taking a break from instagram next week. Insta is the platform that I struggle with the most, keeping up with everyone’s uploads and comments is just exhausting to me. I just need a tiny break away from taking new photos so I can focus on catching up with people on the platform instead.

Top 10 Tuesday |
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday was super fun! Top 10 Most Anticipated New Releases for the Second Half of 2019. As a book blogger, preparing this post got me super psyched for the rest of the year. I know where I’ll be every month until January – at the bookstore! Publishers and authors, I love you, but my wallet hates you.

Reflections |
This was a great week! I’ve got some plans this upcoming week so I’m going to try to keep up with the same pace, although I might slow down just a bit – we’ll see.
How is your reading year going? Reading anything great? Writing anything? What have I missed this year that I need to know??
xoxo

I’m so glad you’re with me on this one. What a bummer of a book. Buffy deserved more.

I’ve decided to pass on Slayer after hearing not great things and also not wanting to taint Buffy if that makes sense lol. Your pictures are also amazing 😀
